Tony Stewart/Toyota already won the Nationwide series race at Daytona on Saturday. But I bet they'll get a few wins in Sprint cup before the season is over! Well, Gibb's Racing will at least.

I know there is a good chance the ricers will get a few wins this year, heck, they bought up just about anyone who would sell out

I love the commercials the Dale Jr and Gordon ran about staying with Chevy :P:dunno:

I am a Chevy guy all the way, but I was happy to see hard luck guy Ryan Newman win Daytona today. Hell I will even pull for a Ford over a Toyota.

Anybody but Toyota!!!!!! In fact I have actually boycotted Home Depot!

Yeah, I know when Dale Jr. was looking around for a new team he specifically said he wanted to stay with Chevy. :dunno:

But I may boycott all of NASCAR if they don't ease up on those $#$% restrictor plates. :nono: Before you know it, they'll be hitting top speeds of 100mph. We'll see how the rest of the seaon goes. If all of the races end up being this boring until the very end, that's going to really hurt the series. At least for me anyway. :P

the cars are a freaking joke. NASCAR mandates just about every single thing on them now, its real close to the old IROC series where the drivers just jumped in a random car, slapped a number on the door and took off.

They might as well honestly. I don't see why there are even brands of cars anymore. Nascar officials might as well build the cars, have the team sponsors pay for it, then have some guy hop in and listen to the crew chief for instructions.

NASCAR isn't really what the basis of their name comes from any more.

Purpose built chassis with a shell resembling a vehicle of a recent current year manufacture.

They don't even have fuel injection and computerized engine/trans/suspension mangement systems that would at least be a tiny step towards a STOCK car. Even the engines are still 358CI, and for everyone.

It should at least be a v-8 configuration of any displacement no greater than 327CI with the F.I. and computerized.

The Super-Bird actually ended-up being one of the causes of the dismal state of fairness that we see in NASCAR today. Well along with the attitude that everything should be equal, we won't keep score, and every kid will get a trophy just for playing or not playing, showing or not showing...........................

win loose or not ... at the end of the day ... all they did was chase their tail

As a drag racer I hear many things about the circle track races. my favorite one is, "Real racers drive straight to the finish line, those other guys drive around in a circle all day looking for it".

They should have called it the DELAY-TONA 500... WTF was all of that pregame crap? I wanted to barf...

...but they came d**n close!

I predict 3 Yoters in the chase (all JGR) and 6-8 wins for them this year. "They're here" and they have some serious $$$ to throw around.

So when's Nissan gonna play the "me too" card?

Am I missing something, but isn't this Toyota's second season in NASCAR? I hate to say it, but they'll get better before they get worse, IMHO. Hell they got two in the top 10 among 6 FRIGGIN DODGES! Chevy and Ford only had one each respectively!
