Heater Problem '07 Silverado

Here's an interesting problem. I have almost 900 miles on my new Silverado, and I've found that hot air comes out of all the places you would expect it to, when I want it to, but I also get cold, fresh air spilling out of the heater box itself, just under the dashboard on the passenger side, right on my girlfriend's legs. The dealership "recoded" the heater, thinking that would take care of the problem, but it didn't. They won't be able to work on it for a couple of weeks, and since I live in Alaska, this could be an inconvenience. I'm tempted to just cover the gaps in the heater box with duct tape. Any ideas? Update: The dealer tweaked the heater box, tightened screws, and it is a little bit better. I'll have to take it back and have them try some more.
