Sterring Collum Wont Lock

I have a 2003 gmc 2500hdwith the 8.1 allisson. Recently the sterring collum wont lock when the key is removed.Is this a simple fix that I can do or is it a major problem?

You want to fix that? How'd you get it to do that?

I believe GM quit putting the steering wheel lock on around 2003. My 2005 has no steering lock. That has been gone for a while.

Just checked mine ('07 NBS) and no steering lock. Never really noticed before. Didn't miss it either.

My 2002 YukonXL doesn't have a sterring lock....neither does my buddy's 2001 Silverado.

No steering lock. 04 and 07 Classic.
