Intermittent Stalling Issue

New to this web site and I am hoping someone can shine some light on this weird problem.

I have a 2000 GMC Seirra 5.3L and intermittently while slowing down to make a stop the truck stalls. I can immediately restart the truck and it will run fine. The problem then disappears for a few months and comes back.

The one thing that happens on a regular basis is that if I have the lights on, fan on high and come to a stop the lights dim and the fan slows and truck rpms drop to around 400 rpm (feels like it is going to stall) then idle returns to 500 rpm and all is ok.

I thought the dimming lights and slowing fan was the alternator and had that replaced. This did not cure the problem.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I had the same problem awhile back too, at stop lights felt it stumble and then jump back up. It even stalled on me twice. I had to replace the muffler because of a seperate problem( the inside of my corsa muffler broke and rattled around) and that stalling never happened again.
