Battery Drain

Recommended Posts

We have a 2007 Suburban. If we have it turned off and leave the radio running for 30 min., the battery goes dead and it won't start. Dealer thinks running the radio for 30 min is enough to drain the battery. I didn't have any other accessories plugged in. Have been stranded 2 times with this issue.

What diagnosis can be ran? Dealer wants to replace the battery but I have read even replacing that and the alternator isn't the issue? Could it be parasitic drain on the battery? What should I instruct the dealer to run/try?

Thanks!
