PAC audio has the UPAC-GM29 for our vehicles for IPOD integration...

Following features:

iPod and Auxiliary input interface

adapter with HD Radio option

iPod input can be fully controlled from the radio or from the iPod

2 Inputs will support the following combinations: iPod/Auxiliary, iPod/HD Radio, or Auxiliary/HD Radio

Optional HD Radio Tuner (uPAC-HDRT sold separately)

Works with 6-disc CD Changer radios and navigation radios

SAT Tuner or DVD Video systems will continue to operate

Anyone use this or have it? Comments?

I have the PAC Audio iPAC-GM3, which is made for the navigation radios. I assume the product you're inquiring about is pretty similar. In any case, the GM3 works great; much better than the ipod Lockpick from Coastal. The GM3 displays the song information on the radio and allows full use of the steering wheel audio controls, among many other features. I would definitely recommend it. PAC seems to make very good products.

Bostonfavson- do you know if the iPAC-GM3 is compatible with a regular lockpick, used to view DVDs or input directions while driving?

Thanks in advance.

I recall another brand that worked like the PAC, but it seemed to have certain advantages. I also recall it being for vehicles with out nav or XM. (Good in my case, cause I have neither.)

I'm really waiting on GM's PAL connector. Accomplishes the same thing as above, but I have more faith in it working properly with MY radio, or any other factory radio for that matter.

Yep Tim, just as advertised. I'm very happy with it. It's a completely seamless integration, and it works like it was there from the factory. Michael, it works fine with other Lockpicks. I have the GMX-320 Lockpick and there are no conflicts whatsoever.

I also have the same combination, GMX-320 and the iPAC GM3. Works great and installs in less than 10 minutes.

I have been looking to purchase one of the PAC iPod intergration adapters but have had no success. Who sells these things? I went thier web site but none of the links carry their items. I e-mailed PAC but no reply. These are not good signs........ maybe I should wait for the GM adapter to FINALLY come out.

Or maybe you will wait on the gm unit and find is really isn't all that great and probably should have gone with the aftermarket.

Similar to how everybody waited for the aftermarket remote start unit that was advertised as having a 1500' range and really only works fractionally better than the stock unit to the tune of 500' if you are in an empty parking lot.

I vote go with aftermarket. Plus it will give the engineers more time to "engineer" new seat covers :troll:

I have the Ipac-GM3 also and am very happy with it. The sound quality is great and I have no complaints.

I ordered the IPAC-GM3 back at the end of January for 2008 Av with Nav, no RSE. Pac Audio then told me it wasn't compatible with my truck and said I needed the UPAC-GM29. So I returned the GM3 without ever installing and at that time the GM29 was not available. So right now I'm stuck with a very unpredictable LockPick. Anyone know why they told me the GM3 wouldn't work?

Hmm...I just got my new IPOD video up and running yesterday and I will definitely need this interface.

I have an 08' SD w/ Bose, XM, No Nav. Correct me if I am wrong, but the UPAC-GM29 will do the job for me, and I will be able to retain my steering wheel controls too ?
