95 S10 with W motor has developed a hard start problem. Takes multiple cranks to get it running after setting for a few hours. Has about 120,000 miles and is well maintained. Where do I start? I'm thinking the fuel pump???

I had an 87 that wouldn't start for me and sounds like the same thing. I had approx 115,000 miles and would have to let the truck sit for a few hours, then go back and try to start it. I replaced to fuel pumps, the computer and plugs, wires, etc. After none of that worked, I took it to my mechanic. After it stumped him, he replaced both battery cables and the truck worked flawlessly there after. If for some reason the fuel pump doesn't fix the problem for you, you could check the battery cables

Does it run smooth when idleing?

Also how does your fuel pressure look when key on engine off look? Does it hold pressure or bleed off fast?
