I have a 2006 Yukon Denali...

I want to add a front bug deflector and side window vents...

does anyone have a good site where I can get them via mail order. Also what is a good name brand, model, or sets I could get?

Thanks for you help!!!!

I did some looking around for the vent visors, and have decided to go with Putco. They do not stick onto the painted surface, but rather fit into the window channel. I think they look better then the other stick on ones.

If I bought one again, I would go with GM. I bought an AVS bugdeflector and it redirected the wind and made it sound like sleet was hitting my window when driving at highway speeds.

Just in case the one you get does this, just put some clear silicone between the weatherstripping and the windshield. It fixed it for me.

The GM one does the same thing......

I do not have that issue on my Silvy, with the GM deflector

I have the EGR brand AeroWrap bug deflector I got from Summit Racing (www.summitracing.com)

As for the window visors....my brother has the type that go into the window channel and they look nice, but they make a slight squeaky noise when the window is up in the channel against it.

Do the bug deflectors actually help? Do they help keep the bugs off the windshield?

I still get bugs on the windshield when on trips, but whether it's more or less I couldn't tell you.

I got it mainly to help with the small paint chips I was getting on the front of the hood

Got mine from the dealer before it left the lot! Got a good deal on the accessories when I was bargaining for the truck...

 Yes, I still get bugs on the windshield!

My main reason was to keep the bugs and stone chips off the front lip of the hood!!!

How does the GM deflector mount? I have one but it is not installed yet on my '08 Silverado. The mounting clips slide on the hood and look like they would put some severe scratches in the paint. Is there some special trick and tape to protect the paint?

Thanks,

Lou

They provide clear film for the hood where the clips slide on. They provided about 3 times more than I needed, so I put two layers of film on mine. I think its a crappy design but it works and it didn't damage the paint. I also had the problem with the windshield seal flapping on both sides, so I pulled it (4 screws on each side), applied 3m double-sided tape (the kind used for body moldings) and reinstalled. That took care of the noise. I chose to go with GM mainly because they come painted to match your truck and its a good aesthetic design. The bug shield is not installed in my sig pic, because I had pulled it off at that point due to the noise, until I researched how to fix it.

I woulda went with a GM, but they didn't have the color for my '07.

$120 for a AVS deflector, paint and install, turned out nice. A local custom shop did it for me.

I do have the "noise" issue, but reminds me to slow down, so havn't fixed it yet...

I also had my GM Hood deflector installed by my dealer pre-delivery. I never knew how it mounted. I took it off a few weeks ago and they used the clips and NO tape under them and guess what? After over a year, there were ZERO scratches from them, the paint was perfect underneath them. With that said, I did apply tape under them before reinstalling it.
