Creaking Leaf Springs, What To Use To Quiet Them Down?

Recommended Posts

The leaf springs on my truck are really noisy, and every time I get in and out they let out an annoying creak. Its not the slap off the helper that there is a TSB for, its a creak like a old door. I tried WD40 in the pivot points, but didnt help at all. Should I slap some grease in there and try to work it in or what should I do, I dont care about it attracting dirt I want t hem to be quiet again.

WD40 will actually cause that area to dry out (over time) causing it to creak even worse. As slimjim2525 stated, it is better to use packing grease to fix it.
