Motor Mount Replacement

I have 2002 Chevy 2500 HD 4 x4 with 6.0L. I need to replace at least one of my motor mounts (passenger side). I am not sure how big of a job this is. I am not afraid to work on my truck, but the last motor mount I replaced was on a 4 cyclinder toyota (easy job) but that was a big difference in engine size. I have an engine lift, air tools, cutting torches, etc...

 

Is this a big job? Do I have to pull the entire truck apart? Or is it more basic like just lifting engine and unbolting the mounts and a few things in the way like the skid plate?

Why do you think it's bad?

The manual says you have to:

Removal:

-remove engine mount bracket bolts off the frame bracket

-jack up truck and remove front engine shield

-remove the a/c compressor to gain clearance to remove mount

-remove the starter

-raise the engine up, they warn to NOT jack up the engine by the balancer or oil pan-probably will need a way to pull it from the top, and to use jack stands to hold engine up

-then remove engine mount & remove mount

Install:

-reverse removal steps

Specs:

-tighten engine mount bolts to 37 ft lbs., shield bolts to 15 ft lbs, and frame mount bolts to 48 ft lbs.
