Order From Gm Parts Direct

I made my first order from GM Parts Direct today. How long does it usually take to recieve it?

I just received a tailgate cover that I ordered from them and it took 5 business days. It was a special order part also.

I've placed two orders with them.

The first order had several items in it and it took three weeks to ship (I think one or more of the items were backordered). Then another week to get here.

The second order only had one item and it was shipped in two days. Then another week to get here.

I haven't tried their customer service.

I've ordered quite a few things from them over the past few years. Sometimes I get the part within a week, sometimes its back ordered for several weeks, and there have been a couple of times that they were unable to get the part and cancelled the order after a couple of months. If time is a concern, I would make sure you know if they have the part in stock before ordering or find out how long its going to take to get it in if they don't. I have never had any issue with the parts or there service other than that.

I guess I will call them when I order the part so I'll know if they have it in stock or if it is going to take a while.

You CANNOT call them it's email only and it takes 24 to 48 hours for them to reply. I'm not too worried about time just was wondering how there shiping was being it's my first time dealing with them. Thanks for the reply's :banghead:

I've had gret luck with gmaccessoriesstore.com. I've ordered several times from them and had my stuff in a matter of several days. Just offering up another possibility.

When my dad ordered the rear wheel well liners for me, for Christmas, he went to the local dealer and asked if they'd price match. They did. They did the same thing on the splash guards he bought for me. I went and did the same thing when I bought the new tailgate cap for my truck, too. So, you get the GMPartsDirect price without the shipping costs! :)

Well guys my order shipped today! I guess it wasn't in there warehouse besides it was a special order item and no local dealers had it in stock. Nothing like saving a little green :sigh:

How did you get them to price match? Did you bring a printout of the GMPartsDirect.com prices? In fact, I'm going to shoot an email to my local dealer right now to see if they will price match.

I ordered a transmission cooler from them. It took about a week and the price was fair. I did notice one annoying thing about their website though. I tried to request information about the cooler before I ordered it. The website gives you the option of inquiring about a part without entering your VIN. I didn't want to go out to the driveway to get my VIN, so I clicked that option and entered my request. I waited four days for an answer only to get an email saying that they couldn't provide any information without the VIN. What a waste of time. They shouldn't tell you that you don't need the VIN if they refuse to do anything without it.

Soon, I'll need to order something from them. Do they have good customer service?

Show them the GM Parts Direct quote - my dealer matched plus by the time you pay the GM Parts Direct freight (they are really high) you're better off supporting your local dealer.

    • Which one, the AT or AS?   Starfire is made by Cooper/Goodyear but at $85/tire I'd think I'd need to level-set my expectations that they may not even be round 😉 But you're saying they're decent?   I'm already into this thing $1506 in parts, fluids, etc. Totaled all my receipts today. $250 of that was replacing an EGR and MAP sensor that were probably fine, but I'm not going to return the parts since they've been installed. I'm cheap, but not that cheap. I use it, I keep it!   I may or may not make money if I sell the truck at this point, but, that wasn't really the point. And if I billed my time, I'd be hosed for real. My thought on the tires is I "might" put 1,000 miles on before selling it. I just don't want to put absolute junk on it, that doesn't do anyone any good. If the Solus solidly isn't junk, I'll definitely consider them.
    • I leave mine as is. I'm always a trip away from riding on unpaved roads. Dealer can clean it when they prep it after I trade it in for another new truck.
    • I have these on two vehicles and love them. Pepper is one of them 😉
    • 4WD. Far as I know it came stock with P's and not LT's. Definitely planning to put P's on it, but stock is a 109 XL load rating so I should probably stick within that guideline.   No rebates on anything I can see at the moment. Discount Tire is offering $50 off, but Pep Boys is very competitive on price, and also carries all the off-brand stuff. Les Schwab always wants an arm/leg, but they do good work.   It still has the original spare. Goodyear Wrangler RT/S, thing looks like a tractor tire LOL!! How times have changed.
    • 2020 Sierra 2500 HD (base model) gas engine 4wd.    All 4 windows roll down on their own. Happens somewhat randomly after stop and engine off - when engine turned off, when walking away from vehicle before or after locks activated. Pulled the window fuse F14 Instrument Panel Fuse Block Right; the driver's side still activates from driver's side door panel; passenger and back seat windows activate from local switches on their doors but not from driver's side group of switches. Power mirrors don't activate with fuse removed either (same fuse for both circuits). Problem not solved.    How can they even activate with fuse removed but they are all still opening and can control from each door?  When they open on their own, I can shut them from the switch in each door, but they don't stay closed.    Seems to be activated somehow with key fob; something bumping the key fob in my pocket or just handling - removed key fob and took it far enough away and now the windows stay closed. Replaced key fob batty just in case, no change.    Sounds like some kind of wiring short or maybe electronics. Dealer will first replace electronic control module without checking anything else and I anticipate problem will still exist since their troubleshooting skills are limited to "do whatever the computer says".  In any case, keyfob seems to be activating the circuitry.    Surely I'm not the only one with this issue, but I can't find anything related on the site. What do yall think?   JohnRoy
