Awesome Dealer

I took my truck in for it's first oil change yesterday and was sitting in the lobby when the service manager came in and complemented me on what I had done to my truck. We were just shooting the breeze when the subject of fuel mileage and performance came up. He told me "off the record" to get a custom tune but I would have to bring it by and get a crank relearn. I said how much, and he just winked and said to see him when I came in and he'd take care of it as long as I promised to tell him if I liked the tune once I had the chance to drive it a bit. Real nice guy and I certainly didn't feel like it was any kind of set up or anything. A few minutes later he came in with my truck keys and told me it was ready. I paid the bill and when we got out to my truck, I couldn't believe what they had done. Washed, vaccumed, windows cleaned, and the tires had a dressing on them. To say the least, I was impressed. I made a comment about getting the code to operate their touchless carwash and he actually gave it to me. He said that he understood that getting things done "different" for me and he wanted to help. Great guy!! I'm seroiusly thinking about trading the wife's 4x4 Exterra on a Yukon Hybrid. Now seems to be the time to buy. I think I'll probably try to sell it on ebay or something.

That's awesome. It'd be nice if more dealers were like ther.

Big difference compared to that first dealer, huh?

A huge difference Dan, I was extremely aggrivated at the time going from dealer to dealer but as they say, "everything happens for a reason".

I wanted to run something by you guys. Before I installed the new wheels and tires on my truck, I was starting to get around 18mpg but have gone down to around 14-15mpg. I don't remember the site but I did a comparison on the two tires and it said that the difference in tire size wasn't enough to justify having the speedometer re calibrated. Again, I went from 275/70/20 to 305/65/17. I'm not that familiar with the difference in tire sizes. Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully, I'll gain a few mpg when I get the tune from Justin.

Wow, that service manager is quite the fellow. Deserves a handshake and a pat on the back. More people like that around the dealerships and GM would be in better shape.

My dealer is tops too....

It is a small town GMC/Ponti/Caddy/Buick Dealer.

ALWAYS like taking my car in.

If you get your service done there, every second oil/filter change is free. WHen ya pay, it's 26.99 for oil and filter.

Car is always washed and vacuumed when I get it back.

Looks like some of them get it, the others DON'T. I'm sticking with mine.
