New Tune

Got my live tune from Justin at Black Bear Performance today.

"NO MORE 4 SECOND DELAY" and overall driveability is much better. Justin is a great guy to deal with. Definitely worth the 50 minute drive for me...

Just added mine yesterday night and also am loving how his tune has eliminated the 4 second delay and the constant bogging when you make a turn. It feels good to have a truck run like a truck.

Excellent. Glad you all like your tunes. I have one as well, but not BlackBear, and the delays are removed and all kinds of other nannies are removed there as well.

 

Nice, isn't it? Amazing what these trucks can do when set up correctly.

A tune is the best thing u can do to these trucks, the stock tune sucks. What tune did u go with a 87 or 91?

I went with an 87 tune. My employer pays for my gas for work and will only pay for 87. I was mostly interested in getting rid of that 4 second delay and it's gone . The rest of the benifits are nice too. Justin is really great to deal with. I live about 50 minutes away from him so I got my tune done live. I here it even gets better as it relearns the new settings. So far I'm liking it. Are you running 87 or 91?

Running a 91 octane tune, when I tuned it I noticed the truck was completely different instantly. Yeah, it does get better with miles, when I tuned it I was glad the 4 second delay was gone and it didn't feel sluggish anymore. How much TM was removed in your tune? I removed 80 TM and I completely removed the TM in tow/haul mode. A tune is the best mod I have done so far to my V-Max.

I think Justin said he only removed 60% of TM and he left the tow/ haul mode alone as I have a HD utility trailer that I may pull occasionally. My street racing days were back in the late 70's and 80's. This is my daily driver and I am going to try and make it last 5-7 yrs. Doesn't mean I don't like to have a little fun once in a while.
