Stuck In 4 Wheel Drive Low

I have a 2006 GMC Sierra with about 70,000 miles. My service 4WD light has been coming off and on for about a week. I called the dealer and they said it was most likely a sensor or electircal issue and that the 4WD would work properly as long as the light wasn't on at the time I needed it.

 

This morning, after stopping to get gas, the truck ended up in 4 Low. I didn't put it into 4 Low, it just went there on its own. I can't get it back to 2HI. The 2HI light will flash for about 15 seconds. Any ideas on why it's stuck in 4 Low and if it's something I can take care of myself?

You probably did this, but make sure the transmission is in neutral, then try selecting 2wd, or 4hi.

Agreed. In both my trucks you can not engage or disengage the 4WD with out the transmission in nuetral.
