Some, but not as much as a dedicated cooler.

 

A transmission temp gage and using your head to keep from toasting it would probably be even more effective at prolonging trans life.

Get that and what he said above - cooling ths tranny has to be next to whatever - also consider MagHytec for the tranny and differential.
