I picked up an 08 Silverado Extended cab LTZ Z71. I've been trolling the forums since before I purchased it so I decided it was time to register. I've already searched through pages of search results for lifts and I will probably end up picking up a 6" fabtech or BDS kit along with some 35" tires. Anybody with either of these setups feel free to post pictures. I'm especially interested in white trucks with black wheels since I can't decide which ones to get yet.

 

I've been looking for a week now but I haven't been able to find any Black replacement Bowties or even a vinyl overlay so any information I could get regarding that would be great.

You need to paint it. I took it off and had a local auto painter do it. Only cost me $35.00

Just roughed it up with 320 grit, wiped it with alcohol, and hit it with 4 coats of RustOleum wrinkle finish (I wanted a matte look).

 

If I were doing a gloss black, I'd prep the same way, then spray 2-3 coats of black, then 3-5 coats of clear, wetsand with 2000 grit, and polish it.
