Austin Texas!

Took some pics today while in the hill country surrounding Austin, Texas for those who have never been here. Using my carry around point and shoot Canon through the windshield while I drove mostly... so don't expect any glamour shots! There were angry skies and bad lighting but you'll at least get the idea. A couple were from other times when the sky wasn't so crazy.

One weekend when I have the time, I'll go out with my Nikon and get some shots of the sights around here.

Yeah, I've been in the general Austin area for many years. We now live in Cibolo about 45 minutes out of the city near New Braunfels.

Hey, it raining it's ass off here...2" in 3 hours

Yeah, it's been raining here - off & on - for at least the last 2 days.. maybe 3.

I've been waiting for a sunny day, since Monday, after I got the drop shackles installed... Oh well! Maybe tomorrow will clear up some!

Fortunately, all we've gotten out of that system has been a few showers and an occasional down pour... But, nothing long-lasting.

That's not Texas, there's not one short little man with a giant hat and a little moustache!

LOL. He was taknig the pictures!~

I wish more folks in here would post up their local area. Austin and the Texas Hill Country (as its called here) are fine places. Not much at all like the "typical" Texas theme you see in the movies. The hill country was formed by shifting fault lines and volcanic activity eons ago. The country is rough and rocky but has a real cool charm all its own. Of course there are flat sections of the state covered in cattle ranches and oil wells but there are some really nice areas also.
