Push Bumpers/grill Guards

Greetings my friends,

With taking a trip down to the local Line-X dealer yesterday to have them look at the black paint pealing off the top of the Delta Tool Box they sold me last year, I was browsing through a few of the accesory magazines and realized just how much I would like to get a front Grill Guard/Push Bumper set up for my truck, in hopes of giving it a more "agressive/business like" look. (GM has always done a great job of keeping the styling of it's trucks somewhat tame, not agressive, (Ford/Dodge) but also not retarded looking (Toyota/Nissan))

Bull Bars are out of the question, I want a full sized set up. Do any of you folks have suggestions for the

GMT-900 Styling?

Cheers

I have the Warn Transformer with 2" Hitch and light guards - happy so far

Has two tow hooks and obvious mount for Winch

Do you have any pics of the Warn guard? I am thinking of this for my truck and would love to see some photos.

Thanks

I like the Warn ones, but I don't like the headlight guard part of them. I want to get something that's just the middle "pusher" type part, like this GoRhino series 3000

Those ranchhand ones look weird, I think because the center "pusher" bars are spaced so wide apart

I like the looks of a truck with push bars. However, I just thought of something. Wouldn't the installation of a push bar negate the front air bags???? What would trigger air bag deployment???? I believe the air bag sensors are incorporated in the bumper and the push bar is attached to the frame. Would the insurance company have problems paying medical in a front end accident where the air bag didn't deploy because of a push bar????

Anyone have any experience with this?

the Headlight hoops are an added feature - you can just have the front 'push bar"

look to see how they are attached before you make your true accessment ..

Warn for me was more function - winch mount , light mount , 2" hitch and tow hooks ..

airbag deployment : impact is impact ..

But wouldn't the impact be transferred from the bumper to the frame through the grill guard? I have seen rear end collisions that the trailer hitch transferred the impact to the frame where the frame was twisted and the bumper was not even scratched. I would surmise that the same thing would be possible in a front collision with the grill guard installed.

I got a friend who is a volunteer fireman and he says he's been on plenty of calls where the airbag deployed just fine. It was enough to convince me that it wasn't that big of a deal.
