Suspension Vibration Or Frame Beaming

I have a vibration/buzzing noise coming from the pass. side at about 1800 -2000 rpms, comes and goes. I followed some TSB on the issue but that was not the problem. It took me about 4 hours of searching and driving and I think I found what the problem is. I beleive it is coming from inside the heater box where the ac cond piping goes into the firewall. if I remove the glove box cover and force my hand on top of the heater box below the pass. airbag unit and press very hard on the black box while driving( dont ask me how i did it but if a cop saw me driving that way i would have been pulled over for sure) the noise would stop. i beleive whats inside that box is just barely touching the plastic box and causing it to vibrate at certain speeds/rpms. hope this helps.

yup, just got a 08 gmc 2500hd, noticed fairly steady shake at and above

60 mph, also pretty good shaking when brakes are applied at highway speeds.

notice it as i drove it home new, still trying to get it in for svc, the

dealers svc are so busy fixin these frigin things

DAMN! Most trolls at least try to post something coherent. This one's balls must not have dropped yet.

WTF?

zembone, if you have nothing productive to say- please say nothing at all.

a place to discuss it and help find resolution.

Dear Sir,

Thank you so much for that brilliant comeback.

Please feel free to drop off of the face of the earth!

Is that better?

Has anyone purchased a 2008 2500hd recently and have been having problems with a vibration at speeds around 65mph?

There have been some other posts in here about beam shake (like you mention). All ladder frame vehicles suffer from it to some degree, but for some reason some vehicles are more sensitive to it than others. Sometimes a simple change in tire pressures makes a world opf difference. The longer and stiffer sprung a vehicle is, the more prone it is to beam shake.

I'd certainly let the dealer have a crack at it once or twice too. There are some things that can make it a lot better.
