It looks like thats what they need for a down payment if you read the description on the left column... They are trying to get you in there to discuss the finally cost... At least thats the way I see it...

From the Vehicle Comments section of that page.

THE ILLUSTRATED PRICING IS THE STARTING PRICE OF THIS VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT THE FINAL PRICE OF THE UNIT AS WE USE OUR EXCLUSIVE, MULLER UNDERMARKET VALUE PRICING STRUCTURE, TO DETERMINE YOUR FINAL DRIVE AWAY COSTS.

"WE USE OUR EXCLUSIVE, MULLER UNDERMARKET VALUE PRICING STRUCTURE, TO DETERMINE YOUR FINAL DRIVE AWAY COSTS" is a nice way of saying that they want to see exactly how much they can squeeze out of you before setting a price.

Screw them, that tactic alone would make me look for a different dealer.

No they are not a bad dealer, I bought my 2500 from them and got a nice deal on it. I would buy from them again.

I saw that truck for sale a few months ago there and they were only asking $14,999.00 or something like that. I thought it was a good price (Especially for someone like me who is a contractor and uses the trucks for snow plowing). I bought my 03 from them in 06 for $23k, only 21,000 miles, power windows, mirrors, redefogger, heated mirrors, ac, 4:10's (which I later found out), a real good solid truck for a great price imo. I didn't read the fine print before posting so...

I don't see why any good, legitimate dealer would do that.

When we were looking for her car, there was a dealer who had some 1 yr old Impala's listed for 12K. We swung in, and the salesman said, "Well I think we sold those already, but let me show you this other one for 20K"

If you guys think this is an underhanded sales tactic, what about this local Chrysler dealer add:

2008 brand spanking Durango SLT, Gator Chrysler discount: $ 9000, Chrysler rebate: $ 3,500,

Your cost $ 15,450.

Of course when you read it fast, the following phrase automatically comes to mind: "brand spanking NEW"

They deliberately omitted the word "new" in the add because

the brand spanking Durango was a used an ex rental vehicle with about 15k miles on the clock. :D

And I thought I saw all sales tricks by now. Not this one.

Now could someone explain to me what a "brand spanking" car or SUV really is? :smash:
