Howdy everyone! My name is Brad. I am from NW Montana and have a 2000 GMC Sierra. I love it to death, but I would like a little more room than my regular cab, and lately the new ones are looking pretty nice, especially with those ridiculous discounts. The problem being is that I am not only waiting on a promotion at work, but the Pontiac G8 GT has really caught my eye as well. What do you guys think?

When I can afford it, should I...

A) Keep my truck and buy the G8 as well

B) Trade my truck off on the G8 and save up for a new truck later

C) Truck now, car later

D) Forget the whole thing, save my money, and drive her 'til the wheels fall off

Hello Neighbor (I have a place in Coeur D'Alene),

My advice is the last thing you need, but I believe moderation is for monks. In our neck of the woods a new truck can always be called practical.

In fact hold on, why can't we call a GM purchase a deductible charitable contribution to help keep GM afloat. That beats the feds forcibly confiscating our sweat and toils and giving it to GM for nothing.

Welcome aboard. I'm new here too and there are some great personalities here sharing their wit and wisdom. Art

Hey, it's good to be here! I'm with Hawghauler on this one. Tax rebates and incentive to purchase an American car/truck. I'll go for that. The government can keep their stinking loan money...HEY WAIT A MINUTE, THAT'S MY MONEY!!! Idiots. :D

Like I said I'm leaning towards 'A.' I like the GT because I'm going to be doing a lot of distance driving next year and want decent mileage that neither my truck or a GXP will make. The GT seems just right, and I would keep my truck and save for a new one later.

Hi there and welcome to GM Trucks! :D

I would go with A. Keep your truck, get the G8 and then save up for a new truck.
