Does Anybody Watch Ncis?

So my dad and I like to watch NCIS and while watching this weeks episode I saw something kinda awesome and weird. There was a part where they had a new Cadillac Escalade ESV in it and when it started up it sounded like a diesel. I was kinda wondering if I am hearing things or if anyone else noticed it. I'm hoping it is the new 4.5L coming out but I figured that it would quiet just like the LBZ'z I have heard. But instead of being quiet I was thinking that it sounded more like the ol' 6.2L diesels. Any thoughts?

Are you talking about the episode that was just on on Tuesday? If so, I watched it, but didn't notice. I was pissed that they torched that Burb though...:thumbs:

I'd be more inclined to think that it was a lazy (or unknowing) Foley Artist's mistake rather than having some super-secret new oil-burning Escalade being placed into a weekly TV show (especially in an un-hyped manner).

Yea when they are in that graveyard at the funeral trying to get catch the associates of the guy who had the diamonds. It was a brand new one. You have to listen close to the thing start up. But it sounded like a 6.2L with the chatter instead of the quiet diesels now.

Luckily about that Burb, it was a W/T model I think. It had the old W/T wheel covers over the steel rims. Still didn't make me any happier. On a side note I did see a great 96-99 3/4 ton Burb, black with tinted windows, tasteful 18" wheels, clean as a whistle, pulling a couple of 4 wheelers. I tried to get a pic but it was going by to fast.

Right, the sound crew probably just overdubbed the sound with a diesel.

I can't tell you how many times on TV I've heard rice burners that sounded like a V8 with a huge cam...

I've always hated that! But you gotta consider that a majority of people don't really care.

Agreed. They probably just dubbed the wrong sound in. They didn't pick up the sound right or it didn't sound the way they wanted it. So, they probably just dubbed in something else.

As for the part in bold..... AGREED!! Very irritating!

I remember watching a show years ago when Oldsmobile first came out with the Aurora I think in 95 and they had it on a show and sounded like it had a cam but more like a drag car!
