Gmc Trailer Light Adapter Question

So I have a 08 GMC Sierra work truck edition that does not come with any kind of towing package .. I havent gotten under there yet, but I am guessing I do not have the plug under the tailgate for the light hookup .. What would I need to get if I wanted to buy an LED tailgate bar, because I know they plug into the trailer lights socket .. Thanks

they dont come with them...

all GMT-900's come with 7 ways..

we usually hard wire them at work, or you can get a 7 to 4 way adapter and plug it in..

What would I hardwire it into?

the wires for the 7 way..

if you reach up behind the bumper there is a tab you push on the round seven way going into the back of the bumper and you can pull it off.. then it hangs down about 10 inches and its easier to work on...

we go into the White, Brown, Green, and Yellow wires then undercoat and zip tie it up and plug it back into the bumper.. solder of coarse too...

My old man has the WT package. It is wired for lights, but not conveniently. Like Riggs said, if you reach under the bumper (I recommend getting on your back and looking while you do this) you'll see where the harness plugs into the thing that holds it. I'll try for some pics when he gets home from work.
