Westin Nerf Bars on HD's?

I'm asking this because I wonder how the brackets work because the E-Brake cable runs along the side of the frame...

I didn't have this interference when I put them on my 1500 and I wonder if it has to be disconected and then reconnected???

I loved the Westin CPS bars I put on the 1500 and I want them on my HD too...  From what I understand, I'll have to have them shipped freight because they are either too long or too heavy for UPS.

I've had "boards and "steps" before, but they collect too much slop in the winter, so I'm going to stick with the bars.

I have the Westin bars on my HD, they mount directly to the cab mounts on the ends and center mount that doesn't do too much

I had a pair of Westin Nerf's installed on myy 2001 Chevy HD Regualr Cab.

They are the flat black nerfs and from my post install inspection they went on easily and no alteration of any cables.

I can say that it was worth while to get those put on since it makes a big difference in getting in and out of my HD.

Shaners, I ran into the problem you're talking about with the E-brake cable. If I remember correctly, there's a bracket that mounts to the cab mount and a stabilizing arm that mounts to the frame. I left the stabilizing arm off with the intention of coming up with some other way to mount it. I never did fix it but they've been on for almost a year and a half with no problems (I go about 210 lbs).

I'll check this weekend to confirm the bracket attachment.

OK, took a look this weekend. The attachment is as I described earlier; the main bracket mounts to the cab-mount and a second piece (stabilizing arm) bolts the nerf bar to the frame. On mine, I only had to leave off the stabilizing arm on the driver side rear. Hope this helps.

Mine mounted at the front and the rear cab mounts with the stabilization bar previously mentioned on the front connected to the frame.

No e-brake problems.  I don't even recall them being an issue when installing.
