Fuel Pressure Problem...

I have an 03 2500HD Duramax and this issue typically happens about twice a month. I'll start my truck to warm up and after about 15 seconds, it shuts off. You can hear the motor is starved for fuel as it dies. I'll pop the hood and prime the fuel pump. The first 3-5 primes are easy, then it gets hard to pump which tells me i'm primed. I'll start the truck again (it will crank for about 10 seconds before starting) and i'm good to go. The problem is completely random. I've had it happen 2 times in a week, and also gone weeks without it occurring. My driveway is on a very slight incline if that matters. I've owned the truck for 3 years with no problems. This started about 3 months ago. I also change my fuel filter every 10,000 miles.

Any ideas on what could be going on?

Thanks,

I'm not sure about water in the fuel. Does a seperator come stock on the truck or is it an aftermarket system? I have not installed one on the truck and I don't think the previous owner did. Is there an easy way for me to tell?

Thanks,
