About 15 miles up our canyon there are some mountains capable of snowfall.A couple of friends and I decided to investigate the fire roads for snow, well we found some.In some places it was 10''-12'' deep.My friend just bought a Dodge HD 2500 4X4 and wanted to see how it was in the snow...FUN as was my burb.Neither of us had any problem driving thru the white stuff. Here a few pics and one short little video of our day.......gramps100_0044.jpg100_0045.jpgDSC01380.jpg100_0051.jpg100_0049.jpgdriving in the snow a short little video

Great pictures! Looks like you guys had some fun.

I had been curious if anyone from here had been out in the mountains over there. I've been watching the UCLA Dept of Physics & Astronomy webcam, up on Mt. Wilson, for the last couple of days. Looks like they got some snow down that way, too. :rollin:

Lets do it! :ughdance:

I'm actually going to the Catskills (not canada, but about halfway there) this weekend to go skiing, and it's supposed to be snowing. Nothing better than a 3+ hour drive in the snow. :rollin:

LUCKY! Which mountain? I've skiied Belleayre, Windham, and Hunter. All great...haven't been out this year yet though. Doing a Killington trip with some friends in early Jan. Luckily, I am NOT driving!!!

No shit! You're the only person outside of my family that I've talked to that's skied Belleayre. Definitely my favorite mountain. The runs are pretty short, but it's a wide mountain, which means a lot of trails, and not a shit-ton of people on any particular trail. The longest I've ever had to wait in a lift line was 15 minutes, and that's because someone fell off the lift. :rollin:

I skied one day at Hunter, and didn't really like it. Too many people, and the layout of the mountain wasn't very logical. I also took a trip to Killington last year, and only got to ski one day (tore my meniscus on my way back to the lodge since it was dusky and blizzarding). Just got cleared by my surgeon to ski about 3 weeks ago, I'm a little nervous about going out there again.
