Holy Bajeezus. Dealer Offers Me A Leftover 07 Sierra

Well Guys, this may be my next fullsize GM truck. I know I've been driving everybody here insane about these "should-I-buy" posts...

As a matter of fact, I was looking for maybe a regular cab, maybe something different.

Dealer offered this deal to ME late Tuesday afternoon, they are still curious as to my answer.

I KNOW this is sorta over-kill for a daily driven street vehicle, BUT

2007 GMC Sierra 2500 HD Model

Regular Cab, long Box

4x4

Allison 1000 6-Speed Auto

6.6 Duramax Diesel Engine :rollin:

SLE-1 Package (not a strippo model)

Brand New, Left-Over 2007 Model

Silver Birch, with Charcoal Interior

OK...here's the heart-stopper

MSRP on this thing is $40,855

"We can let it go to you for $20,000 out the door" is what the Manager told me

:ughdance:

Opinions??

FAWKING DO IT!!! that is what I would buy if I could for that price. I would then take the $20,000.00 dollar savings and make that bad boy breath alot easier and make that trans shift alot better.

the only thing I would be worried about would be the warranty start date. When I used to work at GM, the warranty start date was when the dealership 'reported' it being sold or after 6 months. I know that GM did not allow warranty start dates to be reset unless there was a credible reason. you have probably lost 2 years on the warranty already, although I wonder if Rich (MS3DALE) can verify any of this

I would though get the dealership to give it a good going over after sitting on the lot for that long.

Just do it. Do it now. Get up out of your chair, call them, tell them it's a deal. Now. Do it. Are you still reading this? WTF? Get up. Now.

:ughdance: fawk that, where is that truck? Tell the salesman I will trade my truck for that one and we will call it even. :rollin:

nah, if the dealership played by the rules, they would have had to proactively checked the truck (battery, fluids, etc) and would have probably fixed anything under warranty that needed to be fixed. That shouldnt be an issue.

Hmmm......I "think" the warranty would start when he takes delivery of it.

It defintely starts when the dealer reports it as "sold",but I've never heard of the 6 months thing.

I can find out tomorrow though...My GM parts rep. and our GM service rep. are coming in for a little visit :ughdance:

When I worked for a Dealership in 04/05 on new untitled vehicles the warranty started when they were sold. You would not loose any warranty. Now on demos you would get full mileage up to 7500. Any thing over 7500 you got docked for it.

have a good one,

If you have the P&P (or whatever they call it nowadays), it should explicitly be listed in there (somewhere in that godforsaken 'book')
