I'll be heading out tomorrow. 550 miles of pure, sweet Texas highways! Was gonna head up to CO Springs too, but that fell through. How bout yall?

So far, all that is planned is a drive from North Fort Worth to Southwest Fort Worth... After Christmas, I'll be off for a while. So, I may make a quick road trip to somewhere. I'm just not sure where, yet... I may just go drive around Colorado for a few days, get some pictures, and then ease back home.

550 miles? Heading to the panhandle?

Going skiing on Sunday (250 miles round trip), then Christmas eve I'm driving up to my Uncles (about 100 miles round trip), then Christmas day I'm driving to my Cousin's house (about 120 miles round trip). I'm glad gas is cheap again. :bs:

Yep, heading to Dalhart. Hoping it will snow, but its looking doubtful. Might have to make a quick trip to the mountains just for the hell of it.

I have considered taking a nice easy drive From Ft Worth, down to Florida and back.

Ain't got much else to do and I will be off for 11 days. :bs::P

That will give me a chance to see if the Black Bear tune helped the fuel mileage on the Cadillac. :P:lol:

Don't want to spend all my time off just sitting around the house.

That's one reason I'm thinking about going to Colorado. "Just for the hell of it."

I have yet to have my truck in the snow and I'm curious... But, I'm not going up there if it's coming a freakin' blizzard! :bs:

Eh, it'll do fine. They get the big highways cleaned off heading up there pretty quick. Although last year when the blizzards hit they were hitting/finding cars with the snow plows in NM.

Speaking of, is there any good way to go through/around DFW in a decent amount of time? I'm tired of spending 2 hours in that traffic.

For Christmas I drove 210 miles to my parents' house, Saturday I'm going to my Uncle's in west Texas, about 110 miles, then Sunday I'm going up to Santa Fe ~350 from my Uncle's to hang out with some friends and watch the UNM vs NMSU game in Albuquerque, then back to my parents' some time by Christmas, about 250 miles from Santa Fe. To top it off I'll be going back for school some time in January for another 210 miles. All and all i'll probably put around 1200 miles during December/January. Might go snow boarding in Ruidoso some time during break too (about 120 miles). So I'll probably break 10k miles on my truck before school starts up and I've had it less than 6 months. Not to mention I'm going to Phoenix some time in January or February to watch a Coyotes game and it's around 400 miles one way. I travel pretty frequently...

P.S. - Snow plows aren't that common in New Mexico so I wouldn't worry about running in to them, probably why they hit cars though.

I'll just say I grew up used to traveling. From the town I was raised the nearest decent clothing store (Dillards, AE, etc) is 150 miles away, nearest Home Depot is 70 miles away, nearest restaurant that isn't a Chili's or local Mexican food is 70 miles away, you get the picture... The reason why I don't come home much from school where I have all of these things in town.

Coming from Tyler, you might think about taking 69 north to just East of Sherman, and picking up 82 there ... then West on 82 and pick up 287 just South of Wichita Falls.

Don't know about 69, but 82 is a pretty good road.

Otherwise, when coming in on I-20... take it all the way around to Ft. Worth and catch I-35W, then North to the split with 287.

Also what is your normal route to Dalhart?

I'll fly about 10,000 miles and drive about three miles. I will have monkey butt by the time I get home. Grey Goose and a very hot tub will fix it.
