Darkanion Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 excellent pics, Michael! Thanks, Scott! How's Alaska treating you? Weren't you going to go out and get some snow pictures?
pennzoil29 Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Nice pix Michael. I guess we're in for some of that wintery mix today. Oh, the joy. We're supposed to start out with snow, and change over to freezing rain.

Wingnut Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Awesome pictars! There is a name for that style photo isn't there? When the main subject is in focus and the background is not...?? I call it a "picture". Increasing/decreasing the depth of field is indeed a big part of the composition of a photo...Most point and shoot cameras that people use these days don't do it...They pretty much have an indefinite depth of field, so when somebody uses a decent camera (DSLR or higher end digi-cam) it looks a lot better just from pointing and shooting it through a normal lens.
Darkanion Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Thanks, guys! That's a nice pic of the azalea, Wingnut! Justin, I think you may be thinking of "macro" photography. ...and Tobias...
rvsahs Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Ice pictures are awesome. Here's a pic I took of my azalea after a big ice storm. Was that from the December 2007 ice storm that hit OKC and Tulsa? We missed out on it up here in Stillwater, fortunately.

Don't ask me why my azaleas were blooming in the middle of winter during an ice storm though. I don't know anything about azaleas except that they look cool when coated in ice
sheveman Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 nice pics guys! here are a few that i took in my backyard in early spring of 08:
