I just put on a pair of the molded plastic ones GM has they were inexpensive around $30 per pair (cdn coin) I cant remember the exact price.  Look good as well they even have the bow tie on em ehh!

Actually, they GM mud flaps will fit with factory flares.  I know because I have both.  My dad and I installed them ourselves.  GM includes some little bitty screws and fasteners that dont hold crap, so we use our own bolts.  We use some big bolts on the front, and on the back we used some smaller ones because we thought that they would not need as much support.  I got 2 pics if you want to see them, and I could prolly get more.

Hey guys maybe I can resurect this thread instead of starting a new one.  I picked up a set of the Husky Mud flaps for my 2002 Silverado.  I have the factory flares and these look like they will fit perfect.  My flares are paint matched, so the mudflaps come with this 3m protective sticker you place on the flare to help prevent rubbing on the flares.  What question I have is this...

I placed the mudflaps up against the flare and it looks like it'll be close but not actually touching, do I really need to use the 3M product?  I'm assuming the worst that could happen is the flaps might rub a little of the paint off the flares where it touches, but eventually it'll rub through the 3m sticker too.

The 3m says it needs to be warm (like 60 degrees) for it to adhere bestl.  And I'll have to wait till June for that, since I live in AK...

Thanks ahead.

I believe the "protector" goes on the fender to protect the paint, not on the flare.  Just installed the Husky's on mine w/factory flares.

akjay,

I live in your area and I installed the husky's in March when it was about +30 deg.  I used a warm bucket of water to warm up the fenders flares and applied them.  It may have taken a little longer than normal but a week later they are still on there and not peeling away from the the flares.  I only used the 3m product in the front due to the flex in the mud flaps.  The rears seem to be better attached.  I also had to trim the lower inside edge on the front flaps to clear the 285/75/16 I have.  Easy intall though.

I do have one question If somone knows.  I was looking at getting the Husky's painted to match the truck and the product says they can, but the local paint shops say that it is a waste of time to get them done because of the cold.  Is there a paint that is flexible enough to be used in 0 deg. weather?

Well all went well.  I waited till this week, it was over 40 here so I used the warm water aproach as well.  Other than having to eyeball the decals a few times and making sure they didn't stick out past the edges of the flaps I was happy.

Thanks for the suggestions, glad I waited it looks good.

lol!

Nah I want to get a spray in liner first.  I think I'll wait till next year for the tires/wheels.

akjay,

I had my bed sprayed with Rhino lining in Anchorage, and had the color matched.  Over the rail as well.  They did a nice job.  Straight lines.
