Anyone know how sams club compares to wal-mart on tire prices

I've been pricing 265 BFG's (AT KO) at tire stores and came up with $168 per tire yesterday.

BFG sets their prices for particular sizes at a minimum price.  They call it "Maximum Value Pricing."  With that said, a reseller can't set the price any lower than what BFG says or else BFG will drop them.

 

I went and looked up sizes, and I presume you are staying with a 75 series and 16" wheel.  A 265 should run $154.99 (or $155) each.  The 285/75-16's are the ones that run $166.99 (or $167) each.

 

As such, you shouldn't be able to find them anywhere else for those two sizes cheaper as that's BFG's minimum selling price.

Saw the BFG's at BJ's warehouse for $145.99 last night.  They were the 265.  I might get those once I wear out or get tired of the 'stones.

My Sam's Club does carry the BFG line, but doesn't carry All Terrain TA's.

For years we got the tires for our truck at Sams simply because they were the cheapest and we went through a set no matter the brand in no time.  Always put the Generals on and never had a problem.  Since then we've wisened up and gone with a different brand through our local tire guy that is only five bucks more a tire and actually has a decent tread on it.  Can't remember its name for the life of me, traded the '96 in on them and haven't had to put a set on our 2000 yet.  BFGs are WAY to expensive for us, especially since we got no extra mileage or performance from the set we tried once.  Sorry, $160 a tire is a lot more than the ~$95 we are spending now, can't just throw $260 down the drain every time you put a new set on.
