So I got my truck washed yesterday and at the end where the fans blow huge amounts of air onto your truck to dry it, my bug deflector broke in half

I took the deflector off and found the clips that held it, took paint off of my hood.

Should I just go get touch up paint? And does anybody know the part # for this accessory?

Thats one of the reasons I don't go through car washes. Cold temps on plastic, suddenly being exposed to warmer ait, and the force of those blowers will crack some defelectors. I had two crack on me before, the owner of the car wash repalced both of them, even though he had a sign saying he wasn't responsible for any damage. He also has an oil change business and I brought him alot of business, so he treated his customers right.

These deflectors will break more less during winter time cause of the temps, so keep that in mind next time you venture off to a car wash.

A couple of years back I was at a local touch-less car wash, and was behind a guy in a Chevy dually...well as you can probably guess when it got back to the rear quarters it hit the passenger side fender and punched a huge hole in the fiberglass.. and proceeded to get stuck on the fender, so he had to pull away and tore the fender off. talk about an expensive car wash!

sorry to go off topic but seeing this thread made me think of that.

Wash it with your own two hands or GTFO.

+1... That way if anything breaks you know it was your fault and that you werent just being careless and stupid!

That's easy for someone in Texas to say in January.

It sure is.

Move somewhere warmer or GTFO.
