Problems With My New Tuner

Recommended Posts

Hi I just recently bought my predator tuner from the advice on the tuner pole. I have a 2006 GMC 2500 HD 4x4 6.0l, the only aftermarket electronic is my sat. radio, which I had removed, pulled the fuses it says to and followed the directions. Every time I try to use the tuner it never finishes it goes to about 6%, (my climate control kicks on then), Ive called Diablo several times and they finally told me to send it back from where I bought it. I noticed on the website from where I bought it I can only exchange for another Predator and have to pay ship. both ways and maybe a restocking fee. My question is has anybody ever had this problem before? Ive got bigger tires and need my speedo fixed and I was going to try out a few of the performance settings but I'm dead in the water.

YEP!!! Bought a Predator & the *&^% thing was DOA when I recvd it. Wouldn't power up when plugged into the OBD port. Checked all of the fuses twice before calling their "technical support". After 2 minutes of talking, they said to send it back. Shipped back next day to the vendor & got a refund. Went & bought the Bullydog and haven't looked back since....

Yeah I'm kinda worried about it because the place I bought it from says restock fee, ship., and only exchange for another predator. I think its obvious that my truck dosent take to the predator, and I'd have to buy another make. So to get my truck tuned it might end up costing me around a $1,000!

If your paying a restocking fee for a warranty exchange, you've been screwed.

By the way I love my Predator. Get on their forums and learn what those programmers can do, lots of really good guys and some of the Diablo technical help guys on there.

Look up Blackbearperformance. A lot of people have his tunes

I say if you have to pay a restocking fee any way. Forget about them, send it back and get a Blackbear tune.

That which tuner thread is old, and was started before custom tunes were so readily available.

Which would you buy for the same price?

This (represents a handheld tuner):

Or this (Custom Tune):
