Alignment

I took the Sierra in today for a rotate and oil change and they called me back to look at my tires. Needless to say even though the truck drove well, it was waaaay out of alignment because the tires were wearing badly on the inside. After they realigned it and had me ready to go, it is amazing the difference in the truck now. It drives better than the YD, so since the YD needs an oil change as well i'll have them check out it's alignment also. Willing to bet it's out of whack as well. It really makes me irate that they can be that far out of whack from the factory. I have put 18k on both vehicles and never knew till today.

Same thing happened to me. I would definately recommend getting an alignment even though you get a new truck......Unless you are looking for a reason to replace the factory tires.

Weird. I just had my 2000 aligned for the first time about a month ago and the tech said it really wasn't that bad for having 157,000 miles on it. Maybe GM decided to use tape measures to align their newer trucks to cut costs!

Mine was out and pulled to the left. They fixed it and now it pulls a little to the right

Haha that's good stuff!

No this was done at my local guy's shop. My dealership tried to work on the YD and told me it was ok, the service departments around here are sub par. I didn't feel it was worth arguing over it. My little contribution to help GM stay afloat I guess.

My 99 2500 didn't get an alignment after buying it new until about Aug of this last yr and 200,000 plus miles. It always got good wear from the 3 sets of tires and this 4th set that's on there now. Just dumb luck I suppose.

However, with my new truck, I'll be installing the Bilstein adjustable ride height shocks and I'll have it aligned afterward.

Update on the YD. Got it to the shop this morning for service and they call me back right away. I've got an oil leak right where the transmission meets the engine. So they tell me to take it to the dealer. The YD was out of alignment to, so I let them go ahead and do it first. Then took it to the dealership and they told me they would have to take the transmission out before they could tell where it was leaking from. Said it would be atleast a week. I have not found any oil in my drive way, so I guess this could be a recent leak?

Always something......

Always a pain at the dealer with a problem like that, but hopefully your Denali is still under warranty. At least you wont get a financial headache.

Yes, it is still under warranty. I am very thankful for that. Not happy with the Buick lesabre or "legaybre" that my wife calls it, that the dealership is providing while we wait. I am impatient, so this does not help me any.

I took my '99 C2500 to an allignment shop last year, 'cause it was pulling to the left. It turned out to be a frozen brake caliper. The allignment was fine.

My saga continues, when I was having the oil changed this morning, my guy showed me where the dealership broke the skid plate when they bolted it back on. Used an impact and cracked the plate pretty bad. Service manager was not to happy when I took it back this morning, I told him if they would take their time and do it right he would not have to worry about me coming back this morning.
