Electrical Issues With My Truck

Recommended Posts

Posted

I have posted in the past about my Driver Side Power Seat Not Functioning.....anyway...this Seat has been nothing but trouble since the truck had 6K miles and it experienced a Short in the Backrest Wiring Harness....anyway, here we go this next visit to the Dealership will be visit number 5 I think for Seat related issues, basically my power seat is still inoperable, however it will randomly work. So far we have Repaired the Backrest Harness, then Replaced the Backrest Harness, the Replaced the Bottom Cushion Harness, we have also replaced the Memory Seat Module....basically it is giving a Short to Ground DTC in the Tech Two....also my Power Pedals are Inoperable when the Seat Goes....I'm pretty sure they are tied into the same circuit. The only thing that seems to work well is the Heated Seat Portion!

There was also an error code for the Onstar Communications Antenna stating it had a Short, they will be checking this also....and I also have a a problem with the Auto Climate Fan in the Headliner, it is making a loud buzzing....is there any bullitens out there on this?

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do....I am to the point I am getting very frustrated, and I am also getting about out of warranty...I'm sitting at 32K miles now. What is the best way about going and getting this fixed, I'm tired of just throwing parts at it!

Well either you understand electrical wiring or you don't. If you don't, then your options might be to ask if a factory technician (expert) can be called in to find this problem being as you have returned it so many times.

With electrical problems, some technicians will have a better understanding of these things and will be more skilled at finding the problem. The squeaky wheel gets the grease!

Or your state may have a "lemon law", if they can't fix it, mention this law and see if you get results.

Be ,calm and rational, and explain your side to the service manager. Tell him and her that the numerour trips are uncalled for and that you do not want the vehicle back until it has been completely repaired. If this cannot be met, start researching your lemon law.
