Original Equipment Info

I am curious to find out about the original options that came on my truck. I have the VIN and I understand that I can buy for $50 the build sheet. My reason for the inquiry is that I have enjoyed a remote starter that has just now stop remote starting. I asked my dealer and he wasn't even sure that this was an option, let alone indicate that he could look into it. I called GM and they replied that there was a key fob remote option. The only question is how do I find this out and prove to the dealer that it was original, ( the dealer doesn't think it is original even though I use a GM key fob.)

Thanks,

I didnt' think that 2005 had a factory remote-start option. hmmm...

Thre are a few on this board that may be able to run your VIN for you to get a build sheet. I'm sure they'll respond.

BTW, Welcome!

Nice truck you have there. My 3500 has single wheels and a 6.0 gas.

I didn't know about the remote starter until my wife,(who loves to here the car alarm chirp to verify the lock), double clicked the lock on the key fob and it started! We were both surprised. Now, a couple years later, it just stopped after a dealer state inspection....

BTW if anyone has access to VIN info, here is my VIN:

1GCHK33U65F85603

Thanks. I had the Indigo blue on my 99 and figured I'd get something a bit more forgiving this time for when I don't have time to keep her spotless.

How did you upload your truck picture?

You can probably get your build sheet at the dealer for nothing, if you go and sweet talk them. I've known several people that have done this recently

Thank you,

My dealership just quit.

The repair side is still working ,but they will do no more warranty work.

Welcome aboard :D

Thanks,

By the way, I found that my hood switch had been jury rigged at some time in the past. The plunger was not recessing all of the way and because of that the auto start was disabled.

Thanks to everyone,

Craig
