DSC01215.JPG]Decided to take a look under my truck today and found that it appears to be leaking transmission fluid. I did not find much on my driveway, maybe a dime size spot. I guess I'll be taking it in next week.

Anyone have this issue. My truck is a 2009 CC Sierra with 3500 miles

Sounds like you have the new 6-spd (2009 CC). Do you have the 5.3L? If so, what do you think of it? (ignoring the leak of course!)

Yes I have the 5.3 with 6-spd. I like it. I really don't have anything to compare it to. My truck before this one was a manual ford ranger 98. It seems pretty smooth. Great acceleration from 50-90mph. Stops/shuts off @ ~100mph.

Personally, I'd wait for the leak to grow a bit. Some leaking will be "within spec" is my guess. :(

Is it just too early in the morning, or is the new ATF (Dexron VI) blue? That looks rediish - like maybe engine oil or something else.

Take it back to the dealer. Some fluid loss may be "in spec" dripping is not.

Can't tell for sure, but it looks like the leak is between the transfer case and the trans (it looks like 4wd based on what I think is the front drive shaft in one of the pix).

Note that it could be the transfer case, too. It also uses Dex fluid, but isn't supposed to share fluid with the tranny. (nor leak!). On other transmissions, the adapter between the trans and the transfercase is 'dry' but has a hole in it to let air/water out. This hole also lets fluid out if either the trans seal or the transfer case seal leaks into the adapter.

One of the drips in the pic looks like it's above the oil pan 'flange', so it makes me think it's not the pan/gasket.

No leak is 'in spec'.....Get 'er looked at.

Also, please post more details on what you like and don't like about the 5.3l/6-speed combo.

good luck.

You are kidding, right? :(

+896 Thats like saying, "hey dude, your house is on fire, but its not the entire thing so just wait it out before doing anything about it."

Lmfao @ Chuck, you are gonna get drilled for that one. I sure as hell wouldn't want to fly in that Ronald McDonald aircraft that's in your sig with a "spec" leak. :D

New trucks DO leak if the brand starts with T, F, or D.........lol

:D
