My Thoughts..

Ok guys my truck will soon be rolling 50,000KM and so far it has been a blast to own. Our previous vehicle was a 2003 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer fully loaded with the 5.4L that we purchased for $70,000 CAD. It was a pure piece of shit. Since it rolled off the showroom floor, it was at the dealer every other weekend. It was a lemon, but the dealer refused that and kept fixing it. Then sadly it got totaled and we only got $10,000 for it. Next vehicle my dad told me try GM, so I did. Picked out a 07 Silverado that was sitting at a dealer in Oregon (Lorenburg). The Canadian dollar was higher, so we quickly went down there the next day and purchased it. When I took it for a test drive, it was shifting hard, but I thought it was under warranty so no problem I would take it in the dealer here. Did just that and they fixed it (reflashed computer I think). That was the only major problem it has had so far, and to me that's just incredible. Another problem that concerns me is the paint. It is thin and can be scratched easily, but I can live with that. I guess if you polish/wax your paint regularly it shouldn't be a problem. I only got one other thing fixed so far and that is the door sill (clip broke off). It has ticked once last winter, never did it again. It got me pretty scared, but other members have experienced the same thing and I have seen trucks with 100,000+ miles on it that have ticked their whole life. That made me feel A LOT better :D. Now we have seven people living in our house and we need an SUV bad. So I decided to put it up for sale and the next day I get a call from a nice fellow (who is also a police officer). He tells me he wants to come look at it and lives about 30-40 minutes away. He arrives in a Toyota Tundra with a bent tailgate, he likes what he sees and makes me an offer. I talk to my dad and sister and we agree on the price. It is going on Friday and I'm a little sad right now as I know I will miss it :D . Right now I am searching for a 2007/2008 Tahoe, Denali, or even an Escalade. I'm thinking about giving it a nice last wash/detail before letting it go. Anyways this truck has been a blast to own and I'm looking forward to owning our next GM vehicle!

Curious...how much is he getting it for? And it's a true shame you won't be in a GM any longer...it was amusing while it lasted.:D

He said he was looking for a 2007/2008 Tahoe, Denali, or even an Escalade.

He should still be around.

Jas, it is always sad when one has to let a favourite go. But the practicalities of life don't always mesh with what one wants.

Don't know if you're interested, but I'm still trying to sell my Dad's 02 Escalade. Excellent condition, 116K kms, 6L, AWD, pewter metallic, 3rd row seats, great price. Let me know if you want more info or pics.

I wish I could switch vehicles like you.

Not me, I like having money and no payments.

So does Jas, his dad buys him his vehicles.

Better hurry and find a replacement.

The clock is ticking...

It's the clock that's ticking, right?

:sigh:

How much would you let it go for?

That's not a lemon...that is just a typical Ford. And the dealer experience sounds right as well.
