With Mike Skinner set to undergo surgery on his injured ankle, Richard Childress Racing inked Robby Gordon to drive the 31 car. Gordon will pilot the Chevy until Skinner is ready to return.

It has often been said that Gordon only needed an owner he could respect. Childress demands respect. Consider this an audition for Gordon for next season. There have plenty of rumors circulating that RCR has been looking for Skinner's replacement for the 2002 season."

 

Looks like RCR just has to have someone in the Lowes car that doesn't get along with the Goodwrench driver.  They say Dale never liked Skinner, and we all know how Gordon and Harvick feel about each other after Sears Point.  Personally I hope Gordon doesn't get the full-time ride with RCR next year, but even if he does it's an improvement over Skinner.

Well, I heard Skinner used to talk trash about Dale.

Me, Kansas Kid, and Tom talked about this last night.

I thought it was funny how the #7 team dropped M. Wallace like a bag of dirt for Gordon, and now that R. Gordon Dropped them, they came crawling back to Mike.

Even though Skinner was Dale's teamate I still didn't like something about him I think it's well IMO he wasn't much of a teamate anyhow NOT ROBBY GORDON, RC and do so much better, he could call me or even Ol' Darrell but not Gordon or Kenny Wallace but not Gordon
