i have a 2001 2500hd chevy with 44,560 mile's on it if the rotor's look good ,and there is no pulsing in the pedal can i get away with putting pad's only on it ,as the rotor's are thin to start with ,usually you like to turn them and put a non directional surface on them .

you can.. wouldnt recommend it. if you have a dial indicator... run the rotor and see how much run out is in it... or if you really trust youre sense of feel..and know theres no pulsation.. i guess you can use em again. i would take sandpaper and knock a fresh surface on em at the least. shops will usually turn rotors for you if you take em to them... at a very small cost.

Autozone will resurface them for a small fee, but most of the time it is more cost efficient to replace them. See how much a new set will cost you. I'd hate to have to do the job again soon, and perhaps even mess up your new brake pads because of faulty rotors.
