Another Fng Saying Hi

Wanted to drop in and say hi, been reading here for a few weeks. Looks like you have a lot of info here and a lot of helpful members so I thought I would join. I have learned a lot just by reading the current post and doing a few searches. Yes, I do know how to use the search feature.

I have been looking for the right truck since Dec of 08, as long as everything is as it appears I will be picking up a used (8,500 miles) 2008 Sierra Ext cab this Satruday. Its stock with power pack, 4X4, Z71, tow, climate control, steering wheel radio controls, moving pedals, back up sensors, and DIC. And best of all its the fastest color, Stealth Grey Metallic :ughdance: .

I am really sick of looking, and hope this works out! Seems every other truck I found is too expensive, has the wrong options, too many miles, or is the wrong color :ughdance: .

If this one does not pan out, I will likely be holding out for a new one this fall. Been looking for this color specifically as it kind of matches my 1996 Impala SS.

I also looked at Dodges, and almost bought a Nissan Titan.....but just could not do it. We have owned nothing but GM since 99.

This will be my second truck, I had a Sport Red 99 Silverado Ext. cab. Turned it back in at the end of the lease in 2002. With some home projects coming up, and the 1,935' of snow we had this winter, I am ready for a truck again. Besides that, my 95 Caprice is showing its age, and I am sick of one legging it in the snow!

First mods will be a bed rug and bed cover (either a fold a cover or bakflip). Then probably a leveling kit, intake, chrome grill, bull bar and a few other minor mods. Perhaps an exhaust and a tune as well......we will see how I like the stock form. My Impala is for fun, truck will be the daily driver so I do not plan to get too crazy with it. :P

I will post up some pictures when its actually in MY driveway. Well, I have rambled on long enough.

P.S. I promise not to ask too many stooopid questions :dunno:

Now that is a shitload of snow! No wonder there's only 11 days of summer up there!!

Oh yeah, welcome to GMT!

Welcome, FNG!

However, scientific testing has proven that Fire Red is the fastest color. :P

Well, my Fire Red had the 4.8, power locks, cruise/tilt.....and that was about it. It was fairly stripped....what can I say I was young and dumb when I leased that.

But it was fast compared to the Neon that it replaced. Don't be too harsh, it was cheap and got me though college without any problems. It did fall apart a few years after I sold it to my wife's sister though :ughdance: (The Neon, not the Silverado)

Well, actually we only get about 4.5 days of summer where I am. We are about 9 miles off Lake Michigan. When my wife and I had our Goldwing we would head west, sometimes it would be 12+ degrees warmer 20 miles away :P

Thats another reason to get a truck, we could not see over the snow banks at the end of the driveway from either of our cars

And thanks for all the warm welcomes. I found this place by accident while searching for someing truck related, don't recall what.

I have noticed you have a lot of "different" members here  so it should be an informative and interesting time :P
