Another Stupid Mirror Question

I just picked up a nice 2500HD Duramax, 2007.5, new body style. My only gripe is the DL3 mirrors. They are too small and close for towing. I have read the forum threads about replacing them with the OEM tow mirrors, but I found a lot of conflicting information.

If I switch from the DL3 mirrors, what do I lose? They currently have autodim, turn signals, power fold, heated glass, curb view and memory. Does GM offer a larger mirror that has the same features? If not, does any aftermarket maker have one?

If I am going to lose a bunch of features, maybe I'll just do extensions. Can anyone recommend an extension for the GMT900 DL3 mirrors?

I have the OEM optional tow mirrors. They have the turn signals, heated glass & memory. You lose the autodim, power fold & curb view.

I like the look of the factory tow mirrors, but the dim and power-fold are really nice. Has anyone found an extension for the DL3 that looks good and doesn't vibrate too badly?

The only thing I miss is the power fold. Since these mirrors stick out more, I have to be very careful entering & exiting my garage. There are only a few inches to spare.

I just did the trade to the OE towing mirrors. I have a set of CIPA slide on towing mirrors. They aren't bad for vibration. I did add some small felt stripes to the inside of them to make them tighter and to prevent them from stratching the chrome mirrors I had.

PS. I like the OE towing mirrors better.

Does any one have the part number for the OEM mirrors for an 08 1500? Thanks I tow a 21 ft bow rider and this seems to be the way to go!
