August '08 Windshield Washer Fluid Heater Recall

These models, if they're equipped with a heated windshield washer fluid system, are subject to the recall:

• Model year 2006-08 Buick Lucerne sedans and model year 2008 Buick Enclave SUVs.
  
• Model year 2006-08 Cadillac DTS sedans and model year 2007-08 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV and Escalade EXT SUVs.
  
• Model year 2007-08 Chevrolet Avalanche and Silverado trucks and Suburban and Tahoe SUVs.
  
• Model year 2007-08 GMC Acadia, Yukon, and Yukon XL SUVs and Sierra trucks.
  
• 2008 Saturn Outlook SUVs.
  

My '07 Yukon XL owner's manual doesn't address the washer fluid heater so it tends to make me think that it isn't an option and that all are equipped. However, I didn't receive a recall notice.

 

How can I tell if my Yukon is equipped with the heater? If I give a GMC Parts Department my VIN can they tell?

Does your Yukon have the heated washer fluid button?

 

But you can take your VIN into the dealer and they can confirm things for you.

Looking at the owner's manual, pages 201 and beyond, there's no mention of a heated washer fluid control. Optional items are always noted with the parenthetical phrase, "If equipped." That makes me think that it is standard. I'll try the VIN route. Thanks.

If you have it, you'll have 4 push buttons under the radio/heater controls. Its beside the traction control button center console. I had mine done around november and I swear it don't work as good as it did before I took it in. Dealership says all they installed was a new relay.

Geez! Thanks, Steven. I don't have it. Ther's a blank opening there, just about big enough for a cassette tape. AND, it's listed as "If equipped" in the owner's manual in a grouped button explaination on page 205. Dumb me.

They lied to you, unless they did something different than the recall. It's a fuse (5 amp?). 2 connectors with 5 wires, 1 is fused, approximately 7 inches in length.
