Anyone had any luck with Blue Devil to temporarily seal the top end?

I've got a badly blown head gasket on the passenger side, I think due to the fact that prev owner didn't replace a busted off knock sensor...

Between my job, a new baby on the way and all of lifes general chaos , no time to pull the head, or even the engine which is what I wanted to do..

Just need something to seal this head up for a year or even 6 months...Really just trying to keep this engine alive for 5 more years till it's emissions exempt when I can drop a 383 into it...

Sorry, but I have never heard of Blue Devil... I would not think pushing your luck with a head gasket is wise. Could end up DOA on the driveway within the next 6-12 months.

Blue Devil was the unofficial pre-production name for the 2009 ZR1 :D

I've never heard of Blue Devil before. I've gotten a lot of shit in my life for using sealants for radiators and such, so I can only imagine about this! Depending on the cost, it may be worth a shot, but have your cell phone nearby. Things like that never break down in your driveway . . .

Nope ya got that right...NEVER BREAK DOWN in a good place... LOL..

Yep , I agree...That ZR1 is a SWEEEEEEEET car! Hopefully using the name a coolant sealer is not a precurser to a bad thing with that Vette..LOL..

You are better off making the time to fix it before it gets worse and required engine replacement rather that head gasket replacement. As much as it sucks. Temporary fixes never last.

Best to listen to the warnings .... you keep driving that truck when you know your head gasket is gone and the worst thing that will happen is your engine coolant gets into your oil ... and a few miles down the road your engine is TOAST!!! If you want to keep it the truck and fix it later, then buy an old beater for a daily driver for a few hundred bucks... and then sell it again later.

Or this "blue devil'' gets clogged in a passenge way and really messes things up.

Temporary fix fluids, gaskets, etc are only 'temporary enough' to get you to the house or your mechanic for repairs.

really I think what I need to do is get my KLR250 runnin right, park the truck and work on it.....My klr was my daily transportation till I bent a valve..

Mebbe I'll go with that plan....

Just need this engine to last 5 more years till that 383 goes in... :D
