Moving Sucks!

Well, the house is packed. The movers will be here Monday. I hate moving! Our stuff will be in storage until we buy another house. The motivation to find the right house is bigger than ever, so I don't have to move for a long time again

I am going to miss Alaska, the summer is showing up, which is my favorite. I was hoping to get out of here in the winter so I wouldn't go through this. I suppose the good thing is, the house was only on the market for 3 months, and I got my asking price.

I will be officially out of AK on Wed :D

Packing is always a bitch. I've done the double move a few times myself, so I know what it's like to have everything you own in storage. On one of the moves, the house we were building took a little longer than we expected and we had to keep everything in storage an extra month. During that extra month, our storage locker was broken into. They broke a few items and took only my stuff - tools, hunting equipment, sports equipment. Homeowners ins. took care of most of it though. :D

You probably mentioned in another post about where you're moving to, and I probably missed it. So where are you relocating to? Will you change your screen name too?

I couldn't imagine moving now. I've been in the same spot for 15 yrs. It'd take one tractor/trailer rig to move the wife's stuff alone. :D

We sold our house around Thanksgiving and are living in a rental house till ours is built late summer. I tell you that PODS are the way to go. it's just me and my wife so we loaded almost everything but the essentials in the POD and it will be in storage till our final move. We'll rent another one to move the essential stuff from the rental to the new house, but having the luxury of packing as I see fit over a few days in 1000% better than rushing around trying to get a U-haul loaded and unloaded in a day.

It is cool that you sold the house. I can't imagine living in AK for the winter although I will admit it is some fine looking country. Hope all goes well with the house hunting.

Why Oregon?

Satisfying his love of Phish and patchouli.

I actually had somebody sit down about two tables over at my favorite BBQ place the other day wearing that crap. I swear they must have bathed in it. I thought that had died with the hippies.

It'll probably be something akin to "hippievilleLTZ" or "peaceandloveLTZ" or "mydailydriverisapriusLTZ"

Haven't you heard!? They're making new Hippies in Oregon! Scott is already on the list for indoctrination! :flag:

EDIT : I think I've said it in another thread. But, if not, congrats on the sale! :D

Portland, Oregon aka Porkland has, or at least had, the greatest number of strip clubs per capita in the U.S. not that I have ever partaken in that kind of activity.

Kind of a stupid tag on a vehicle that uses gas, I could see it on a full electric vehicle though.
