When should the factory shocks be replaced? I have 54k on my truck and drive a decent amount of highway mileage. The ride seems fine and doesnt seem to over rebound over bumps or anything.

When they go bad, or you feel like replacing them.

 

If the truck rides fine, I see no reason to replace them, unless you feel like upgrading (a nice set of Bilstein, Rancho, KYB, etc. shocks will probably be an improvement over the OEM shocks, even if they're still good).
