I just aquired a 1976 Scottsdale vin ckl146c129529 is it possible to get a build sheet for a truck this old? I want to restore it but would like to know what I'm starting with.

Your best option is probably the option sticker in the glovebox it its still there.

Chances are not good. From about 1997 onward they have invoices available but build sheets NO. Prior to 1977 they were not kept. GM does not keep them even now, a GM supplier handles that and they charge a fee it that can reproduce from microfilm.

Sometimes you can find them "stashed" somewhere in the truck. Look behind and under the seats, stashed in the springs, and look under the carpet.

 

That's where they could be found in 67-72 tucks, I guess a 76 could be the same? I found the build sheet to my Grandpa's '72 in the seat springs behind the driver.
