antig24 Posted April 17, 2002 Posted April 17, 2002 I got this off of another board and thought it was cool. A true fan is simply this: Someone who spends hard-earned money to buy race tickets, plane tickets, rent hotel rooms, and buy over-priced track food just to see their favorite racer come in 34th, and can still smile a mile wide. Someone who jumps around the living room cheering and yelling all alone when his favorite driver gets the pole or wins the race. Someone who decorates his car with bumper stickers for his favorite driver, knowing those bumper stickers may never come off without damaging the paint. Someone who gets angry when the crew chief makes a bad call or the driver gets hit or spun. Someone who gets disappointed in his driver if he makes a bad decision that costs him some sort of penalty. Someone who can have said disappointment without becoming disillusioned. Someone who stands behind his driver no matter what he does, right or wrong. Someone who cheers for the man in victory lane, no matter who that driver is. Someone who cries when a driver is injured or, God forbid, loses his life. Someone who can be counted among the fans for his driver, through and through, no matter what the cost. I am a Nascar fan.

Yep. Yeah right Tom. Sure. I'll believe that when I see a big number 8 on the paint of your truck rather than the glass. Other than Tom's delimma with his truck paint I'd say he's a true fan though. And I am too.
MountaineerTom Posted April 18, 2002 Posted April 18, 2002 Your right. They would be on the glass. I didn't think to add that in there before.
