Well I picked up my truck yesterday and drove it back home (8 hour drive!) On the way back a semi shot some rocks onto my truck and one broke my grille piece ($600 to replace :D) Truck did not bore me at all. The 6.2L mated to the 6 speed is an awesome combination. It shifted and felt better than my Silverado did. One thing I noticed is on some hills I would have to press on the throttle quite a bit to make it downshift. Truck is fully loaded except for navigation, but we just ordered that right now for $1100 off of eBay (anybody know if it will be plug and play?) Fit and finish seems really good, no rattling at all. I was surprised when I discovered the dash not made out of plastic :fume: . Here are some quick pictures of it sitting in the garage. I will take many more when I pick my new rims up which are 24" Dub Dirty Dogs.

Looks good! :fume:

I think thats the first GMT900 Escalade I've seen with Graphite/Charcoal interior,All the ones we get in at our place either have the Tan or Gray interior.

Looks great. If you are interested, there may be a trans programming update to downshift more quickly. I had it done on my 08 and it was a huge improvement.

Sorry about the damage. I went with a 3m Clear Bra film on the front and it has saved me from rock chips on numerous occasions. Wouldn't have prevented your damage but something to think about.

Enjoy!

I drove an 09 Escalade for awhile and those are definately some nice, but expensive, vehicles.

And yeah, GM has definately improved the shifting of the 6sp since it first came out. I remember driving an 07 and even an early 08 SD and the shifts were fairly slow, delayed, and seemed to be a bit confused. With the 09's I've driven it's way better. The shifting issues that I thought was just TM/GM nannies are been drastically improved. It's not annoying to drive at all now. :fume:

Sucks about the grill. :D

I kinda want to dive a 6.2 / 6spd, but I'm afraid what'll happen. I told myself this truck needs to last a LONG time. :fume:

looks nice :fume: . IMO 24's are too big. 22's are proportional for escalades and look perfect. just something to consider. congrats on the new ride.
