99 Tahoe Front Diff Seal Leak

I have a 99 Tahoe that has started to leak in front diff drivers side. I checked the vent tube and it is clear but it may have been plugged some as the seal seems to be leaking less this last day. Wondering as I had same problem with back diff once and even after vent clearing I still had to replace the seal.

In the front diff on drivers side, is it poss to do the change for new seal while on the vehicle? Maybe even bearing if I am in that far? Or does the diff have to be dropped or removed for this replacement?

Would like to find a good schematic of the diff but they seem to be very hard to find.

My good friend that is a GM tech is doing pushups right now in boot camp so he is not able to help me. Hope some one out there can give me a thought on the operation.

I do all my own service work in my own home shop but we can not know everthing.

I will be running the Tahoe on the dunes here in Mi this wknd.
